Both Ecole Polytechnique (1975) and Ecole nationale supérieure du pétrole et des moteurs graduate,
68-year-old Patrick Puy gradually distanced himself from engineering to become one of the most prominent French experts of restructuring. Throughout his 45+ year long career - 25 years as Chairman and/or member of the executive committees of large companies, even listed ones - Patrick Puy notably succeeded in preserving more than 30,000 jobs, mainly in industrial sectors. This gained him to be presented as the « ER Business Doctor».Starting off his career in oil and oilfield services companies, Total and Schlumberger, Patrick Puy joined in 1990 French company Legrand as International Director where he held several positions before being appointed Chief Executive Officer of the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructure (1994-2000). For the next two years (2000-
2001), Patrick Puy chaired Moulinex-Brandt, former French-Italian specialist in small household appliance. He then founded and managed the French offices of the American specialist in restructuring and turnaround Marsal & Alvarez
(2004-2010). This allowed him to participate in several
operations among which Gate Gourmet, Euralcom, Team Partners, Vogica or Smoby. After holding the position of Chief Operating Officer of European broadcaster TDF for three years (2010-2013), Patrick Puy founded Alixio Executive Management which quickly became one of the French leading firms in restructuring and turnaround consulting. This new adventure led him to chair glass-making company Arc International (2013-2015) and then become Spir Communication's Chief Operating Officer in 2016.
In October 2016, Patrick Puy was appointed Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of French multi-brand retailer Vivarte (La Halle, Caroll, Minelli). In less than 3 years, he restructured and laid the foundations of long-lasting growth for the most promising brands of the Company. In addition to his mission as Vivarte Chairman and CEO, Patrick Puy was appointed Chairman and CEO of French pharmaceutical manufacturer Famar (May 2019) and CEO of French cosmetics manufacturer Ales (December 2019). Patrick Puy was CEO of GoSport in 2022 and Grosfillex in 2023-2024.
